Bedroom Shame Smack Down

Spread the love

Can we talk obsessions?

Is there something you’re obsessed with in your home…or that you want to get for your home?

Mine are my bedsheets. (I’ve had them for almost two years and I’m still obsessed).

Seriously. My hubby can vouch for it.

We travel a good amount and whenever we spend that first night back at home, I feel the need to tell him how much I love our sheets.

And he responds with the usual, “Really? Never heard that before.”

I think it’s really important to have something you love to cuddle with, look at, or get inspired by…especially in the boudoir.

Why your bedroom?

Well, I’ll tell you all about in today’s vid, but the down low is that I’m all about making your bedroom your oasis: A beautiful place you love going to bed and love waking up.

If that idea makes you tingle, then check out today’s easy peasy three steps to make this dream a reality.

And when you’re done watching, here’s an equally easy thing to report:

  • What’s one change you can make in your bedroom to start making it the oasis it’s meant to be?

I’m so excited to hear from you this week and see what gets you over bedroom shame. You’re awesomeness means so much me. Thank you!

And until next week, stay peaceful and happy my sweet friend!

Xoxo,
Mridu

You are funny. Especially you grab that bag of chips and you eat some of it and say that is disgusting.
As we write, I will be going to my bedroom and see what objects should be there and what objects should not be there.
Thank you

Charu

I totally agree. I love my bamboo bed sheets. My room looks really pretty good now that I cleaned out the suitcase from my December trip! I learned that from your video two weeks ago about cleaning up the Cember before starting January!

Your videos help me make it through the day ! You are very inspiring!! My husband has so much man junk in our bedroom , I need a small uhall to,get rid of it all! That’s just not going to happen. But love your videos!! Keep up the good work! They lift me up when iam down..With a cat rescue that has 20 cats 3 dogs 13 acres. Your videos brighten my very long days!

Sinikka

I’ve done this and totally agree. For me the “thing” was to have two satin pillows and a very soft throw on the bed. I just love touching them! And they look pretty, too.

Mridu

LOL! LOVE it Charu!
And I know! Don’t amazing bedsheets make all the difference in the world?? I’m just wondering why I waited so long.
Thanks so much for sharing sister!

Ok, my next favorite thing (after my luxurious sheets) are my comfy pillows. LOVE them! Thanks for the inspiration Sinikka. You’re awesome. xo, mridu

Ok, maybe just start with a laundry basket full of clutter a day – and drop the uhaul. πŸ˜‰ Seriously, I know it seems overwhelming, but if you chip away at it just a little every day, you’ll be amazed at the progress you’ll make in a week or two.
And wowsers – you are a pet whisperer! Love it! What an amazing gift you give to the world.
Thanks for sharing Diana. xo, mridu

I am trying to get my master bedroom to be cozy and romantic.

Mridu

I love that you’re thinking about how you want your room to “feel.” And cozy and romantic sound like the perfect getaway, any time of day. Would love to hear how it goes. So excited for you! xo, mridu

Deborah

ok maybe i needed that bit of inspiration, my bedroom is mismatched, cluttered and the dog thinks its her room anyway. Where do i start. I want pretty.

Mridu

Deborah, pretty you want…pretty you shall have. πŸ˜‰ Really, you can do this. Where’s an area that would make you the happiest? Your bed? Your walls? Your armchair? Your dresser? Pick ONE and get going on it. It’s amazing how just one change can make such a big difference in they way you feel. Would love to know what you tackle first. Good luck friend! xo, mridu πŸ™‚

this morning I decided to FILL my laundry basket with everything that wasn’t a book off my bookcase in my bedroom! I JUST read your weekly hint….after nine pm, OMG I am already picking up your vibes! thanks and keep them coming!

Your videos are inspiring and fun at the same time and your enthusiasm is contagious. Actually, my bedroom is clean and organized. However, after watching your bedroom video I did a visual perusal of the room. I think it’s been in the back of my mind for quite some time, but I feel I need a wall color change – something soft and warm. And whipping up new curtains couldn’t hurt in the least.

Mridu

I see we have a psychic connection. πŸ˜‰ That’s awesome Bev. I’m so excited for you! What a great feeling to “cleanse.”
Hope to hear from you again soon. xo, mridu

Mridu

Sharon, I’d been thinking about new wall color for years. Seriously, about 3 years. I finally went from a dark red to a light khaki and I LOVE it – and can’t believe I waited so long. It just feels so much more peaceful and inviting — plus my room looks bigger. I hope you do it too. It’s SO fun and such a mood changer. Good luck to you friend! And thank you so much for your awesome message and all your support. xo, mridu

Discovered your site via my roku and am very glad I did. You are so upbeat and funny and very helpful. I appreciate that you make things simple and uncomplicated as I tend to make things complicated and bog down in details. The things that bring me joy in my bedroom are my cats of course– great bedwarmers, and a very soft small afghan I crocheted. I love to pull it up around my shoulders and face for a little extra warmth and comfort.
Thank you for all your efforts.

Mridu

DeAnn, thank YOU so much for your support and very kinds words. I’m thrilled that I’ve helped you in any way.
Your afghan and bedwarmers sound divine. I love feeling warm ad comfy. I hope you always keep them nearby.
Wishing you so much happiness and simplicity. xo, mridu

I don’t have a linen closet in my house, so I had towels and sheets in baskets that always overflowed and toppled over. I got a long low dresser that doesn’t block the window, got rid of sheets that didn’t fit any beds in my house, and gave old towels and sheets to a local animal shelter. The good stuff is in drawers, and there is a nice house plant on the dresser. My room is transformed!

Mridu

WOW Liz!! That really is a transformation. You must LOVE the way your room looks and feels. Congrats on kicking butt on this challenge! So proud of you. πŸ™‚ And thanks for inspiring the rest of us. xo, mridu

Carolyn

My bedroom is now an oasis. Removed everything to put down new light oak flooring. Removed closet doors on both closets, did not put them back up. Installed floor to ceiling light drapes over closet doors, over both windows, created headboard with same drapes. Puttied all holes in dark paneled walls. Got small lamp with glass table for side table. Table only big enough for 1 book, pair of glasses and 2 alarm clocks. Additional furniture includes two highboys, 1 valet chair, 1 small antique gate leg table, 2 antique chairs, 1 small table with jewelry highboy. Reduced stuff on everything, all clothing fits in closets and highboys when the clothes are cleaned, always close curtains and make bed. Viola, the bedroom door can stay open even if company comes.

Mridu

This is a fantasy room! It feels so warm, comfortable and inviting. Everything has a place – leaving you with a relaxing haven. Thank you for your dreamy inspiration Carolyn. Big hugs, M
