5 Easy Ways To Transform Your Closet

Spread the love

One small carry on bag.

That’s what I packed for my two week getaway when I was visiting home a few weeks ago.

I knew I’d be moving from house to house (parents, in-laws, cousins, brother and friends), so I wanted to keep it light and easy to pack, unpack and take with me.

And here’s what I realized.

When you limit yourself to a small bag, you pack all your favorites.

Like my favorite jeans, my most fav sundresses and my comfiest t-shirts and shoes.

And I did great for the two weeks. Never felt like I needed more clothes.

And it got me thinking. “What in the world did I have in my big walk-in closet back home?!” LOL!

Really. When it comes down to it, I had the clothes I loved to wear most, in one little bag.

So, it did motivate me to do a pretty significant purge when I got home.

Which me leads me to today’s video on closet transformation.

Spoiler alert: Yes, decluttering is ONE way to make a dent in your closet (and one tip I can never repeat enough times).

But puh-lease watch today’s short vid with four others that will help organize and transform your closet from chaos to awesome space.

When you’re done watching, commit to one tip that you’re going to put in place to make your closet a little more useful.

And don’t forget to inspire others by leaving a note about it over in the comments on my blog. I can’t wait to hear from you!

To less clutter and more room!

Declutter! I use my closet to store things out of the way. Things I haven’t looked at in years.

Declutter = I have 3 boxes of stuff that were put in there when we moved in 3 years ago.

I’m going to be 55 this year so I’m looking at changing my style as far as dressing. So filtering my closet of clothes that show too much in the form of wrinkles will be great. A fresh new wardrobe will be nice.

That’s a great one! Closets are such an easy place to store things away vs. figuring out what to do with them. So excited for you Beverly! xo, m

Don’t we all! 😉 So many boxes we have no idea what’s in them — yet they follow us from home to home. Great goal!!

Sounds heavenly. Get rid of the old to make room for the new. Love it Susan! xo, mridu

I need to finish decluttering. Question. I have been holding on to some knockoff designer purses that I bought in NYC years ago. Since I know that they are fake I can’t sell them on eBay. Can I donate them to Goodwill?

Mridu

Absolutely. Goodwill is happy to take any item that’s in good condition. Good for you for letting go. 🙂 xo, m

This is a positive testimonial that Mridu’s system works! I attacked my closet several months ago following Mridu’s videos on Roku. I have been downsizing a large home and preparing it for sale. The realtor walked through last week and asked me how I did it without an organizer or stagger. It was an easy answer, Life is Organized with Mridu! Thank you for popping into my home every week via email! Readers out there, these systems work and a wonderful bonus is additional time for YOU! (And it’s great to walk into an organized home. Thanks for helping me breathe!

Karen, you had me in tears reading this! I’m honestly so thrilled that I could help simplify and declutter in any way. Thank you for this beautiful note and I know your house sale will go amazing! You’re commitment will surely pay off friend! Good luck to you and thank you for all your support. Keep up the awesome work! xo, mridu
