5 Life-Changing Ways I Simplify

Spread the love

Do you think I’m lazy?

I mean, I am obsessed with doing things the easy way. 😉

But I like to think of it more like – smart.

I learned to think this way from my hubby. (Yes, I married well).

The truth is when we got hitched, I wasn’t exactly the most systematic person in the world.

There were plenty of times I knew there had to be “an easier way” of doing things, but I didn’t go there.

It wasn’t until those pesky (I mean adorable) kiddos came along, that my world entered full-on chaos, and I knew changes had to be made.

Since then I’ve been on this transformative journey (AKA: motherhood!) of learning to let go, embracing change and simplifying our lives.

In today’s episode of LIO TV I’m sharing my 5 biggest, baddest, most life-changing ways I’ve streamlined. The funny thing is, none of them are mind-blowing ideas.

But practicing them consistently, has given birth to epic changes in my life. (And that’s the only type of birthing I’ll be doing again!) 😉

When you’re done watching here’s what I’d LOVE to know from you sweet friend:

  • Did any of these tips make you think: I have got to start doing that! OR
  • Do you have another awesome simplification tip to brighten our worlds?

Either way, don’t hold back. Your thoughts are inspiring and beautiful and deserve some attention. 🙂

To you, your family and loved ones – Live everyday simple and happy!

XO,
Mridu

Lol 30 pairs of underwear is such a great idea!!! I make up a to do list every night for the next day. I get up at least an hour before everyone so I can have some me time and drink my coffee. I throw in laundry daily so its smaller loads and I don’t have the laundry pile up. I also wash all the towels daily after all the showers are completed. I like to also make lunches the night before so there’s no rush zones in the mornings. I use a crock pot and bread machines a lot!!! My very best friends!! Lol that way when I get home dinner is ready to serve. It truly saves on stresses.

Less shopping simplified my life the most. I severely reduced shopping, browsing in stores and malls, and trying on stacks of clothes in “brick and mortar” stores. I keep my basic wardrobe updated and to a minimum by reviewing it often. This saved lots of time and money. I just wish I had done this in my 20s when I was constantly clothes shopping. Never too late I guess.

I have done Unsubscribing on email for few months now – it is great but more to unsubscribe, glad you agree! Couple of other things that are a must to start getting organized – make sure kitchen sink is empty before going to bed and make our bed when we get up. So much more to go but set up good habits one by one. I love your Morning Routine and Meal Plan. I want to try them! Thanks for sharing!

You’re right on Janet – It’s NEVER too late! That is an awesome simplification tip. One of the BEST ways to reduce clutter — simply shop less. Such great advice. Thank you for sharing! xo, m

Wow – AMAZING tips Susan! And btw — can you please live at my house?! LOL! Lucky family you have to get fresh towels EVERY DAY. You are a supermom. If others can adopt even one of your habits – they’ll be much better off than yesterday. 😉 love you! xo, mridu

omg Tiffany. You hit one of my all time faves. Clear the kitchen sink before you go to bed. Seriously, so stressful to wake up to a sink full of dishes. It’s completely unmotivating and off-putting. Yes, yes!! Clear the sink! 😉 Would love to hear how a morning routine or meal plan works for you too. But just try one at a time. Trying to many changes at one time can get overwhelming and short-lived! Thanks for your supportive message! xo, m

To have only one pair of scissors in the household. Everybody knows now where they are, since they WANT to return them in the place their belong to for not to loose them. Apply this to as many items as possible. No time wasted in searching any more!

Great tip! Simplify what you have. To me, this is the #1 rule in getting “organized.” The less you have, the more organized you’ll be. Thanks so much for sharing Sinikka!
