Add it to the pile. Shuffle through the pile. Back in the pile. Move the pile from counter to counter.
Sound familiar?
That lingering pile. Always lurking on your counter or desk or table.
You know you need to do something with those papers…but who knows what. And who knows when.
The funny thing is that many of the actions you need to take, take less than five minutes.
Maybe you need to call a company, mail something out, file a paper or respond to an invite. Individually? Not a big deal.
But in a pile together? Totally overwhelming.
And you know overwhelm is just not my style.
So I’m dying to share an easy peasy trick I use to eliminate the overwhelm, make me take action and make my piles go away.

Thanks for this. I managed to tackle some piles on my desk at work, shred, recycle, categorize for filing and what still needs action. I’m changing job functions and don’t want the new recruit to have to deal with the chaos here.
I plan to reuse the sticky notes after I action the paper.
Let’s put it this way.If I were capable of jumping, I would be now. You know me so well. Little piles read and re-read. I’m very visual. Out of sight out of mind. Such a simple and in your face idea. Just today I started sorting the piles on my desk at work and I come across the video after work. I will use this technique on the sorted piles. And yes, I was in OVERWHELM!!!!
