Without This, You Can’t Get Organized

Spread the love

You know when you organize a drawer and it makes you feel so great?

You loooove how it looks and how easy it is to find what you need.

And then, within a week, it’s a complete disaster again.

What gives?!

Makes you feel like, “What’s the point of organizing it? It’s just going to get messy again.”

I’d hate for you to ever feel that way. And I think I know what’s going on.

Chances are you’re straightening up, instead of organizing.

In today’s short vid, you’re going to find out the difference between the two, the key to making that difference and how to set yourself up for success.

(Wow, that’s a lot of value in three minutes). 😉

When you’re done watching, here’s what I’d love to know from you, my sweet: What area do you commit to completely organizing (for realz)?

Some of the most fun happens in the comments, so be sure to join the party. Remember, putting your goals in writing is your first step to making them happen.

To living simple and simply living!

P.S. New LIO update! I’ll be posting videos every other week, so I can bring you more value in other ways (think free challenges, virtual parties and prizes!)

Umm thats great advice but what if you honestly dont have any clear space to put the stuff your cleaning out?

Janet M

I’m starting with my tote bag which has my wallet to prepare for a shopping trip in a few days. Usually I just jump in and clear it out or don’t bother – but preparing ahead of time will save running back and forth to the waste basket or recycling bin.

Mridu

Great question Mary! Ok, if you really don’t have any clear space, take a box or two and put whatever is in your way into your box – just until you’re done organizing your other space. Because you don’t want all your stuff to get mixed in together. And if you DO have a clear space – I promise, you’ll get through organizing you other space much FASTER! I hope that helps! xo, m

Wow – way to put this tip to action. I love it Janet! Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂 xo, m

Perfect video today!! Have been contemplating how to start on this major task. I’ve needed to go through my long term food storage closet to reaccess and reorganize. Been dreading where to start and I don’t have much open space in that tiny room. I like your suggestion to a previous post to use boxes. I’m literally going to truck it to my living room (motivation to get it done quickly and the only close space available) I’ve been wanting to give some to my local food bank. This will help in that too. Thanks for another great inspiration!

I straighten up. Great idea box up to clean a space and use as a landing pad. Other then your bed. Lol. Guilty all the way. I have a pretty good size hall closet that is cramed with stuff. I think that will be my goal this weekend. Thank you Mridu! You are the bomb!

My pocketbook. The only way to organize it is to completely empty it. PS I once hunted for keys for 2 days. They had slid through a rip in the lining. Lesson learned. Have a snap or ring inside where I can attach keys. Another lesson learned is that while it might look super organized to have everything in my black pocketbook match, when you are hunting for a black item in a black container, the item tends to disappear. Now I’m working on different patterns or colors such as a bright green mini flashlight, a neon pink credit card protector case, a black and white cosmetic holder, an animal print day planner, and a Tweety Bird eyeglass case. Unfortunately, my address book and leather change purse, and leather cased cell phone are all black…just like my purse and lining. I’ll probably add a colorful tassel to the change purse and contact cover the address book.

Carolyn, totally agree you need to get everything out of your purse to get it organized. Stuff always finds its way to “the black hole” in there! 😉 Love your idea for the different patterned containers to help you out. Actually, it sounds like a fun project. 🙂 Have fun with it! xo, m
