You offer this juicy, awesome, high-quality, blow your competitors out of the water, service or product, right?
You know it can help your audience immensely and change their lives. IF you could captivate them with the details, compelling images, before and afters, and testimonials from your happy clients.
You work so hard using social media, blogging, partnerships, and press – just to get them over to your site.
And then guess what happens once they do?
They Google the competition.
Ouch.
They might really love your stuff but it also makes them wonder:
- “Who else offers this type of service/product?”
- “Are YOU really my best option?”
And unfortunately, even though you’ve worked tirelessly to be unique, they come across others that sound or look pretty similar to yours.
You know what can be a key differentiator that sets you apart from anyone else?
The very popular, yet still very underutilized medium: VIDEO.
If you’ve been with me for a while you know how much I loooove video and how I’ve built my brand on it. It’s worked for me because it’s the next best thing to talking to someone in person.
And before panic sets it, please know that video doesn’t have to be in the form of a blog. That’s just one option.
When I owned a professional organizing service, I had a welcome video right on my home page, which was like I was talking to my bestie. I let people know I understood their pain and could give them non-judgmental support.
It provided a connection, a voice, a mannerism – like I was right there in their kitchen or office with them.
Other ways you can use video is to show before and afters. To walk through a process or spend 60 seconds demonstrating how you solved a problem, is really powerful in sharing your story and making a true connection.
You can also use video to describe your services, your packages or how your biz came to be.
There’s really no right or wrong way to use it, as long as it’s building a connection between you and your audience.
And in today’s world of iPhones you don’t need to do anything fancy shmancy or invest a lot of money. You just need to have the courage to share your voice.
And because you have a valuable message and gift to share with the world, you owe it to those in need, to make it known.
So here’s the week’s challenge:
- Step #1: Add video, even 30 seconds, to your site, so people can build that instant connection with you?.Remember, this might be the difference between you and your competition.
- And step #2: Do it within the next 48 hours. Pick up your phone, press record, get over the fear and just do it.
And don’t forget to let me know when you do. You know I’m always rooting for your success.
You haven’t worked this hard to blend into the herd. You are gifted, special and uniquely you. Share. Your. Voice.
Until next time sweet friend,
Xoxo,
Mridu
P.S. If you’re still feeling fearful of using video, I totally get it. It took me months to finally get the nerve to press record. I know the impact this can have on your business (and your confidence) – so I’m happy to jump on a free 20-minute call with you to talk about a strategy (and be your cheerleader).
