My 14-year old is a Latin master.
It was required for school and now he’s taking it just because he wants to.
I don’t get it. I can barely get English to roll off my tongue.
But he promises me I could learn it if I wanted to.
I mostly don’t believe him, but then I kinda do believe him because getting a lot done with less stress, was definitely, NOT my thing.
But with the help of my hubby, training, books, and mentors, I’m now kind of a master in my own right.
If time management, organization, or productivity doesn’t come to you naturally either, do not fret my sweet friend. I speak from experience when I say – I promise you: It can be learned.
I’ve discovered that there are 3 easy steps to feel totally utterly awesome at the end of each day.
The formula for meaningful productivity is….drumroll please…
Intention + Attention + Retention
Lemme tell you a little more about it.
Intention is the first building block to getting anything done.
You gotta be intentional about what you want to do whether that’s paying bills, launching a social media campaign, or having a cup of joe in silence.
Too often we wake up without a plan, reacting to whatever ding, beep, request, or demand is thrown our way.
Without a plan (aka: intention) you’re just treading water all day, barely coming up for air. AmIright??
Prioritizing seems easy but in reality, this practice needs some guidance. The good news is that with the right teacher, it can be learned.
Next up: Attention.
Your Attention is your ability to focus, avoid distractions, stop going down rabbit holes, stick to a plan…need I go on?
Luckily you can adopt tiny nuances to take you from “I’m totally scattered” to “this is how things are gonna go.”
Although it might not feel like it, distractions are far more in your control than you think. This is why attention too, can be learned.
Finally, there’s Retention.
Where do you house all the info you put your intention and attention on?
Like, what’s the system to remember the 18 actions to track prospects and clients? And how do you consolidate your 362 next steps?
There is a method to the chaos and it’s likely way less complicated than you’re making it.
And you guessed it. This too can be learned.
Here’s the deal.
Once you nail Intention + Attention + Retention…you’ll essentially be a productivity master. (Similar to a Latin master but a scholar of organization instead of a scholar of Indo-European root).
This is especially good to know if you’re taking care of all the things, for all the people, all the time.
My newly overhauled Life In Control mentorship will teach you how to get on top of your lists, systems, dings, rings, meals, workflow, habits, calendar, and other energy-sucking demands.
Get all the scoop about it here.
Because, yes, it can all be learned.
