Let’s choose to focus on support

Is everything surreal to you too?

I feel like we’re experiencing what we’ve only read about in history books or seen in science fiction movies.

So many questions and so few answers.

There ARE a few things that are in our control though.

1) Washing our hands every 3 minutes!

2) Keeping a reasonable distance from one another.

3) Choosing what to focus on.

In fact, exactly when circumstances feel out of our control, is when we need to take control of our focus the most.

What you focus on you create.

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t stay up-to-date and be knowledgable about our global pandemic or our safety.

We absolutely need to know what’s going on and what to expect.

But if we choose to focus mostly on fear, we will create more, for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Instead, focus on what you can control.

Support. Love. Commitment. Resilience.

>> To whom can you be a pillar of strength?

>> Where can you add laughter?

>> How can you guide others through grace?

I found myself kind of flailing for the last week.

Paralyzed by thinking about:

  • how school closings will affect my family
  • how people will survive without paychecks
  • when it will be safe to see my parents again

I know it’s important to think through these situations but dwelling in it all day kept me in stuckness instead of moving forward with some action.

So now I’m like, okay, what one action can I take to support, love, and guide during this time?

How about being a sounding board?

If you’d like to chat about anything, I mean anything at all, schedule a time with me here.

Maybe you want to talk about:

  • How to adjust to working from home
  • How to plan your day better with your kids at home
  • The uncertainty you’re feeling right now
  • Why Peter chose Madison over Hannah Ann (my Bachelor fans know what I’m talking about!)

You should know I’m not a therapist nor have I ever claimed to be one.

But I have been told I’m a great listener…not to mention an awesome stress reliever.

So, if you’d like to break away from the news and just connect with a friend and/or mentor (with zero expectations or obligation), I’d love to chat. For real.

Either way, let’s choose to focus on supporting each other.

With love and gratitude,

Mridu
