4 Powerful Ways To Avoid Procrastination

Spread the love

23 days.

23 days ago, the start of Thanksgiving break, seemed like plenty of time to order my online gifts. So I worked on other things like getting out our holiday cards and house decorations.

Last weekend still felt like weeks to go, so I put off the shopping – again.

Guess what I did this Saturday? Finally sat down to order my holiday gifts, as I was banking on Amazon Prime to get my shipments here by Tuesday.

But of course, three of the perfectly thought out gifts weren’t available to ship via Prime (two-day delivery) and couldn’t arrive for 1-2 weeks. And those presents need to be under the tree before we leave for vacay next week.

Uh-oh.

Drats! My flawless plan was ruined! And all because of the pesky “p” word. Oh, how I loathe that 5-syllable annoyingness sometimes.Β Pro-cras-ti-na-tion.

Why do we put off things we know we should do – all the time?!

I should have taken my own advice and put some prevention practices in place to help avoid the pesky p before it struck again.

Don’t let it happen to you.

Check out today’s short vid on 4 ways to avoid procrastination. And do yourself a favor. Don’t put it off until later. That would be too ironic. πŸ˜‰

You know how much I love you for watching, right? Good. And even more for all your support.

So puh-lease don’t be shy to let me know which one of these tips you’re going to put into your life…ahem…right now…doing it later would be too much irony to handle. Β

Wishing you a peaceful and stress-free week ahead!

Brilliant ideas! I am still working my way through downsizing; the idea of breaking a job into smaller tasks makes an overwhelming project doable. Thanks for your positive outlook. Happy Holidays!

You’re so welcome Karen! And yes, couldn’t agree more about breaking tasks down to actually get things done. This is the only thing that helps me when I’m feeling overwhelmed. Thanks for kicking off the conversation. πŸ™‚ xo, mridu

I like the idea of doing the easiest or hardest part of the task first to get me motivated.

Mridu

That helps me too. Just depends what mood I’m in to decide whether to go easy or hard. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for joining the conversation Fran! xo, mridu

I found your website through Roku (yes, people watch you on Roku) and have to confess to watching most of your videos through a day of mad, desperate need for organization tips. I just downsized from an apartment into a single room in my folks’ house to be a caretaker, and all of us need organization tips. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Mridu. You not only gave me a sense of control in my life with your tips, but you’ve given me a chance to manage the chaos I found in my folks’ house as well and help them get back to health and peace. This is so wonderful!
