Truth bomb about your list

People who let go of unfinished things get more done with less stress.

No, I’m not suggesting you keep starting projects and not finishing them.

But I am saying that if you gave yourself permission to move on from some of your incomplete to-do’s, tasks, and ideas, you’d have a lot more time and energy to wrap a bow on other priorities.

Truth Bomb: Just cuz something’s been on your list for a while doesn’t mean it needs to stay there forever.

Heard that mic drop, didn’t you?

You can and should know that it’s okay to have had an aspiration at one time and not dwell on it or torture yourself because it didn’t work out the way you planned.

For the love of all things helpful, allow yourself to have had an intention but relieve yourself of the guilt of not doing it now, or in the future.

In the process, you’ll make space for the things that SHOULD stay on your list.

Check this out.

What if you let go of:

  • Those boxes of yarns and needles that you swore you’d learn how to use
  • The gifts you wanted to send over the holidays that are collecting dust
  • The emails you wanted to personally respond to that have been hanging over you for months
  • The receipts from last year that you wanted to organize
  • The idea that you need to host your family this summer even though it’s totally stressing you out
  • The need to say YES to every invite, request, and ask thrown your way

So you can bottle up all that energy and time and put it towards:

  • Reading the three books on your night table
  • Reorganizing your closet
  • Planning a weekend getaway with your family
  • Finishing the course you started last summer
  • Bingeing Bridgerton (what do you mean you haven’t seen it yet?!)

Bottom line: You’ve got to say NO to some things to say YES to others. This includes things you may have already started.

It’s hard to make room for new dreams and goals when you’re holding on to old ones.

Recently I let go of the idea that was going to expand my cooking repertoire and frequently expose my family to new exotic cuisines. (A middle-aged woman can dream).

And by letting go of the idea I mean I donated my shelves of barely touched cookbooks.

Yes, I might have used them someday.

But in the interim, they were just reminding me of yet another goal I didn’t achieve. (so rude!)

Now that they’re gone, I put some of that energy towards meal planning my same six dishes every week. (No, my kids will not remember their mama for food variety).

And I can honestly say, I’m a much happier woman for it.

More done, less guilt. What’s not to love?

So what’s it gonna be?

What will you cross off, delete, remove, squash, eliminate, annihilate from your list simply because it’s been hanging out there for too long?

Drop me a note and let me know.

And if you’re like, sister, I want to get even more off my list but I don’t know how…or what…let’s chat.
