Long-term thinking always wins.
The person who thinks long-term vs. short-term gets better results.
Have a system you need to get in place but don’t have the time? Has it been lingering on your list indefinitely?
Here’s the problem.
You are focused on the here and now.
You are short-term thinking.
Which means you don’t get it done because you’re focused on the immediate time it will take, the hours to put in now.
Want better results?
Think long-term.
Long-term thinkers know by investing time, energy, and money now a boatload of time, energy, and money will be saved in the future.
They are always thinking about their ROI.
They’re not letting short term immediate pain dissuade them from doing the tough work.
They know in the long term it will pay out.
They are always visualizing what’s next. Could be tomorrow, next month, or a year down the road.
Regardless of the timeframe, when long-term thinkers make decisions they consider both the results of their current actions – AND the results at a later date.
So what does that mean?
That means they’ll rearrange their day, reprioritize, use stronger boundaries, or put in extra hours, to make sure that the thing they should do, gets done.
That is why people some people are more successful than others.
They think and act in the long-term.
Make sure your immediate gratification doesn’t take precedence over your long-term results.
When you’re:
reacting to emails and texts and other distractions
picking up that sugary snack
procrastinating creating a process
thinking about skipping your workout
Ask yourself: Am I making this decision based on my short-term pleasure vs. long-term results?
I hate to hear that you were swept away away from your priorities, or that it’s taking you too long to reach to your goals.
Stop self sabotaging and start to change your thinking.
