Stop waiting for motivation.
It’s not coming.
If you’re waiting to do things only when you feel like, you’ll continue to wait a long time.
You’ll procrastinate until your task or project is a heavy overwhelming weight.
Or you may finally get it done against a deadline – stressed and anxious.
Either way is self-deprecating.
All because you were waiting around for motivation.
As if it’s gonna come knocking on your door and say: “These taxes are going to be the most fun thing ever. Let’s go!”
Stop wishing. Stop pretending. But mostly…
Stop waiting.
In fact, tell yourself that motivation ISN’T coming. It’s not on the horizon. It’s nowhere close by.
But here’s what is:
ONE action.
Focus on one small next step.
Action leads to motivation. Not the other way around.
Get the ball rolling. Gather momentum.
You create a continuous loop of taking action and feeling motivated.
Stop waiting around.
Like, when it comes to exercising, I know motivation is completely unreliable for me.
It comes and it goes.
But one next action is always dependable.
- Laying out my workout clothes at night is dependable.
- Putting on my Zumba shoes is dependable.
- Coordinating with a friend is dependable.
It’s one action that gets you closer to the result you want.
Then, motivation doesn’t seem unreachable.
And you won’t need to rely on it.
Motivation is the result of action.
You are fully capable of taking just ONE.
What’s it going to be today? Drop me a note and let me know.
