Happy, happy 2015, my sweet friend! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season.
I took a major mental break which was so rejuvenating. But I really am so pumped to be back on track.
I love the promise of the new year. New ideas, new hopes, new goals and new excitement.
But what I hate is when it fizzles out just a few, short weeks later. So I’m all about setting things up for success to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Which is exactly what you’ll learn in today’s video. Hint: It’s all about finishing what you started.
One quick and simple thing you can do to stay accountable to yourself and your goals is to say things out loud. Or to commit to them in writing. π Seriously, it works.
So I hope you’ll join me with your thoughts throughout the year. I’d LOVE to hear from you so don’t be shy to leave your awesomeness in the comment box.
And there’s no better time than the present. So please let me know at least one project you’re going to complete from 2014.
I can’t wait to rock this year with you.
Wishing you so much happiness and peace every day of the year.
xo,
Mridu
You are so good. I will have to look at what I have to do with what’s left.I am working on this. I am running behind in my projects. I need to finish the old projects be fore I embark on the new ones.
Unpacking my suitcase right now!
Love this! Not painting 7 rooms, going to focus on many 2014 lingering to-dos
Xoxo
Awesome Uly! You’re going to feel great catching up on everything. π Good luck! xo, mridu
Perfect Charu! I finally just put mine in the attic over the weekend. Feels so good. π xo, mridu
Love it Marsha! Use this month to “catch up” and I promise your new projects will go much smoother. Thanks for sharing! xo, mridu
Ok, so my lingering project is dealing with all our holiday cards we received. I’m on it TODAY! π
Well I did the Christmas decor twice once as I was decorating then I bought new stuff to add so when I took stuff down I filtered again.
Mail some packages! I hate going to post office so I ignore those packages as long as possible.. and then some! Thanks for the inspiration Mridu!
uh..you and me both, my friend. ; I have this return all packaged up sitting by our door for days. So now YOU have inspired me. That’s why I LOVES me these comments! π Thanks Benessi. xo, mridu
NICE work!! Two purging sessions on one project. Bravo! π
Great tip Mridu! I never would have thought to tie up loose ends first before jumping into new things and wonder why I feel so overwelmed – so I will definitely be doing this first π
Steph, so glad it was helpful. Too much pressure on us to jump into everything “new” as we kick off the year, right? I love the satisfaction I get when I actually complete something. π I’m so happy for you to do the same. xo, mridu
I cleaned out a cabinet that had meds in it tossed out old stuff. I also filtered a small part of my handbags I am going to consign them and move on. :0)
Awesome! That’s a lot of lingering stuff taken of. π thanks for sharing and inspiring. π xo, mridu
I have 1/3 of my master bedroom to paint… This is my birthday weekend… wanna bet i’ll finish it before the weekend is over? Noting like a deadline to kick my behind to finish my tasks…
thanks for the tips Mridu!
Totally agree…deadlines will do that to ya. π Good luck Rosana! What color are you painting? LOVE sprucing up my bedroom. π xo, mridu
I am painting it a green-ish grey…or is it a grey-ish green… kinda suave… but definitely a color, instead of just plain old white. It’s coming out quite funky… colorful with a lot of dyi, bedroom. I decided that when I get tired of this look I’ll do a serious bedroom. But for now I am very happy with how it’s coming. I can post pictures when it’s ready, if you want.
Happy New Year, Mridu! This week I’ve gotten rid of all the holiday sweet treats, and assembled all Christmas decorations in one place. I will be packing them for storage for this week’s challenge. I’ve returned 4 items by mail, with four to go. I will return those this week. Thank you for the encouragement and the ideas, Mridu!
Hi Mridu! ! Thanks so much for your splendid video on finishing the old stuff first. This is a refreshing and different twist on the usual jump into new things! I am rather proud of giving 7-8 large bags of clothes etc. to our local women’s shelter. But as good as that turned out I know I need to get the Christmas items put away as well as other2014 things done! Thanks again!
Would love to see pics. I end up changing paint colors in different rooms ever couple years. It’s amazing how you can create an entirely different look and feel with a new color. Can’t wait to see yours.
Diane, you’re killing it. Great job! You’re going to feel so accomplished by the end of the week. π Thanks for sharing and for all your support. xo, mridu
You should be proud of that massive purge – in addition to helping women in need. Okay, that might over ride the Christmas decorations. π But now that the clothes project is done, I’m psyched for you to get your decor put away too. Feels so good when that’s behind you! Thanks for your kind words my friend. xo, mridu
Girl! I’m finishing up my family command center, I have had the products for over 3 months lol. Happy New year π
That’s awesome Jameen. Great project and way to make yourself accountable. π Rock it!!! xo, mridu
Hi! I found Your blog via Pinterest. I was wondering if you will have a section on moving. We are in the miLitany and do this so often and with kids and homeschooling its very challenging. I have looked for a master checklist unsuccessfully. Help!
Hi Venus,
That’s a great idea and thanks for the suggestion. I bet there are a lot of people in similar situations that could use some ideas. I’ll add it to my upcoming “blog list.” Thanks for your support my friend! xo, mridu
