I’m working with a coach to finally address my lifelong digestive issues.
Almost a month into an elimination diet, I’m off:
Sugar, gluten, dairy, grains, caffeine, wheat, fruit, shellfish, legumes, soy, alcohol, eggs, red meat, and several other foods.
It’s not easy and is something I NEVER thought I could do.
Although it’s for my gut issues, I knew I’d lose weight along the way. A lot of it.
(If my husband was doing this he’d be down 20 pounds. He loses 5 in a week just by “cutting down on dessert.”)
So guess how much I’ve lost?
Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Not one pound.
How is that possible??
I LOVE my wine, dessert, cheese, bread, and fries and I snack all day. All that is gone…and yet, not one pound off.
I lament with my coach and she asks what changes I do have. Well…
- I have more energy than ever.
- My skin looks better.
- I have much less sugar cravings.
- My eyesight is better. (wasn’t expecting this one)
- Rolls of back and thigh fat have vanished.
- I feel better about my choices and body.
Success feels different than what we imagine it to look like.
My clients success feels incredibly different than they might imagine too.
When we partner they might think:
- “I’ll never be stressed again.”
- “Things will always go according to my plan.”
- “I’ll have everything off my to-do list within weeks.”
These are the actual successes I heard just in the last week.
- “I’m still behind, but I feel less overwhelmed.”
- “My lists are still long, but I feel I’m a better decision-maker.”
- “It’s still hard for me to say no, but now I feel I can do it.”
- “Even though my files are a mess, I feel less stressed.”
What if we focused our success on how we FEEL vs. how things look?
Would you love to wake up thinking:
- I feel more confident.
- I feel more in control.
- I feel more focused.
- I feel more empowered.
- I feel more motivated.
These are the results my clients get.
And it’s a reminder to myself that no matter what the scale says, I’m getting results.
Results that make me feel really good.
Success rarely looks like what you imagine it to be.
But that doesn’t take away from the results you have.
Focus your success on your emotional state rather than on what you see.
It matters.
Your emotional state builds confidence.
Your emotional state creates your identity.
Your emotional state strengthens your resilience.
Those are way better results than what you think you want to see.
