Have Tons Of Receipts? Here’s What To Do.

Spread the love

I’m having mixed emotions about school ending next week.  Yes, it’s next week in our neck of the woods!

It’s nice to not have to jump out of bed so early, make lunches, gather backpacks and usher everyone out while applying lipstick with one hand and loading the dishwasher with the other.

But it’s hard to keep two boys occupied all day for ten weeks when you’re trying to work and get stuff done.  Thus my love/hate relationship with the summer.

It’s about this time I start getting that familiar nesting feeling.  I’m anxious that I’m not going to get anything done with them at home, so I need to clean and organize, now, now, now!  I start seeing messes in every corner (which have been there for months mind you) but if I don’t get them done now, the whole summer will go by and they’ll still be there.  Irrational?  Of course.  Happening to me?  More than ever.

Even while I was waiting in school pick up line the last couple of days I was feverishly working on “projects” (because I can’t let ten minutes go by in my last weeks of productivity!)  I rummaged snot tissues and fruit roll up wrappers on Monday and yesterday I started going through my purse, specifically my receipts.

There’s something abnormally satisfying to hear the tear of paper when you can throw out a receipt.  I sometimes rip them up three or four times just so I can hear it over and over.  (Yes, I know I need a hobby!)  I feel so relieved when that giant pile of receipts is down to just a few and when I can open my wallet again without six receipts falling out.

Check out today’s vid to see how to keep your receipts organized, what you can let go of and what you should keep.

And when you’re done watching, please let me know if:

  • you’ve been motivated to clear out your receipts and
  • what goodies you may have found in there! 🙂

Thanks you as always my friend for reading, watching, sharing and supporting.  You rock!
