Break The Clutter Habit!

Spread the love

School’s back in session after a long holiday break. And mama’s feeling pretty good right now.

It was getting hard to keep the boys busy those last few days. There’s a point where Lego’s, Wii, reading and even football just get plain ole’ old.

And as if keeping them entertained isn’t hard enough you have to distract them every few minutes so they don’t tear each others hair out.

I’m certain my brother and I were never this tough. (Mom, don’t roll your eyes).

As for us adults we find some pretty unproductive ways to entertain and distract ourselves too. Did you know that they can be directly related to the clutter you accumulate?  Seriously.  I never joke about “c” word.

To see what the heck I’m talking about, check out my short video.

After you’re done watching please leave me a comment below about this:

  • When was the last time you perused a store without a specific purpose and left empty-handed?  Personally, I can’t do it!) Come on, leave me a quick line or two about your experience. I soooo love hearing from you!

Thanks for your support, your time and mostly, your awesomeness. Remember, every little step forward is a huge leap towards a happier and more fulfilling life.

“See” you next week my dear friend,

Mridu

This is so true!!! I always thought I am not that kind and used to tease my SIL all the time. But during the last thanks giving I went on a shopping spree and bought a lot of things that are not of much use (realized it only after a couple of days). Good thing I kept all the receipts and have not opened them. My husband helped me to sort them. I still have two more store to go and return. But I decided not to go to a shop to distract myself or to do Window shopping 🙂
You are so right my friend.

BTW, Happy new year. I hope this new year brings more prosperity and joy into your life. Tahnk you for these tips.

Ohhh, the post-holiday shopping always gets us!! Those darn sales are so good and even if they’re not you just feel like you HAVE to get something if you’ve braved it out there.
Good for you for keeping your receipts…and coming to your senses. 😉 Returns are a pain but always worth it. Thanks for sharing your very motivating story Kamala!
And very happy new year to you and your family too.

Since I’ve starting decluttering, when I find myself in a store such as Hobby Lobby or TJ Maxx, I pretend I’m in a museum and just look at the “pretty” things. I buy MUCH less clutter this way.

Ooohh, I like that strategy. “Window shopping” instead of “Shopping” 😉 Those stores are the toughest for me because there’s ALWAYS a good buy in there. I just try to stay out unless I’m on a mission for something specific. 🙂
Thanks for sharing Terry! xo, mridu
