How to Get More Done in Your Day

Spread the love

A lot of us keep a running checklist of stuff to get done everyday.  And although we might see a lot of check marks, why do our big goals stay on our list?  How is it that we can keep going, going, going…yet feel like we’re standing still?!

Contrary to popular belief, multi-tasking is not always the solution to getting more done.  Say “wha”?  Check out my quick video to see how you can get your important goals OFF your checklist.  And find out why these steps are critical.

  1. Making a goal
  2. Telling a buddy
  3. Having a schedule you can “see”
  4. Turning off your cell phone and email  (seriously, you can do this!)

What goal(s) do you have that never seem to get done?  I’d love to hear about it.  Send me your comments in the reply box below.

And as always, thanks for watching.  Know anyone who could use a motivating moment in their life?  Forward this blog to your friends and family and help spread the organizing gospel.

Hugs and kisses,

that’s a great idea to schedule a planning session 4 times a week. That is what I am missing. thanks!!! And I’ll try the new workout too!

Kalpana, it’s hard for us busy moms to make time just for our own goals. But when you do and get things done, it really does effect the happiness of the whole family! Plus, the workout is key! 😉

Great idea to write goals down. The laziness factor is always my strongest obstacle, especially when faced with harder to achieve goals. I find my life is easier when I set more realistic short term goals-like instead of making a long foreboding list-I limit myself to one or two things daily and stick to it! Thanks, Mridu! Your videos are so uplifting and fun!

Loved the tips-especially the one to put your goals on your screensaver -so smart! Question-how or what can you do or say to change those internal distractions like its too cold to go to the gym into a positive proactive action that doesnt make you feel bad about yourself?

Mridu

Great question Shibani. Remind yourself of that goal over and over and ask yourself if what I’m about to do (or not about to do) is going to get you to that goal.
Tell yourself that your goal will be that much farther away if you don’t do what you need to, to get it done. Also, creating a deadline is important but telling someone (out loud) that you want to achieve a certain goal is key. You feel a lot less guilty letting yourself down, but once you put it out in the universe and tell someone else, there’s a whole other level of accountability.

Love your fabulous tips…I am now determined to carve out 4 hours of guilt free “me” time every week!

Help! I am in the process of renovating my kids playroom. Would love to get some good tips on efficiently organizing their toys and creating an inviting play area.
