Are You Playing The Numbers Game?

Spread the love

We just got back from an awesome trip to Florida where we not only got to see great friends and family, but we spent two days at Universal. Let me tell you – two little boys dream!

We’ve done Disney before but it still doesn’t cease to amaze me how they’ve got it down to beyond a science.

After each mind-blowing ride you exit through a related gift shop that is overflowing with irresistible tchotchkes – Despicable Me mugs, Transformer robots and Bart Simpson lunch boxes.

My husband was most taken aback by the $34 wands he was surrounded by after the Harry Potter ride.

Coming from an anti-clutter freak (me) and a value conscious freak (my hubby), the kids knew better than to even ask us for anything. But let me tell you, stuff was flying off the racks at every shop.

Are you the type that loves to collect stuff when you’re on vacation?

If not there, I’m willing to bet there is something else in your home or life you LOVE to collect.

Which brings us to today’s video on just that – collections. I loves me my collections but I know that sometimes I can get irrational about them.

Like I can’t “break up” the collection or make the collection “smaller.”  Really, who’s counting (besides me)??

Check out today’s episode and let me know in the comments below if you’re holding on to everything in your collection because you absolutely love it or if you’re playing the “numbers game.”

And if you know someone who you think could benefit from hearing this, don’t be shy to pass it along, my sweet.

Wishing you continued happiness and success in creating a life you love!

How timely this is!! After YEARS AND YEARS of collecting LOTS of things such as crafting supplies, seasonal decorations, recipes to last me until I’m 1000 years old, papers, organizing books and articles, etc., I’m having to go through and whittle down ALL my stuff…but trying to decide what my favorites are is very hard to do especially since I have a hard time making decisions!!!

Diane, that is quite an undertaking but I’m so proud of you that you’re doing it! Take one collection at a time so it’s less overwhelming. And ask yourself while looking at each decoration or recipe: “how would my life change if I didn’t have this anymore?” Chances are with many of the items your answer would be: “not much.” That will make it much easier for you to give yourself permission to let it go. Good luck to you Diane! I’d love to hear how you’re doing…keep us posted. 🙂 xoxo, Mridu
