Create A Habit You Can Stick To

Spread the love

I am in love! In love with not getting up at the crack of dawn to get the kids out the door. (It doesn’t take much to win my affection).

Camps start at least an hour later than school and if we’re a little late, so what? There are no tardy forms to fill and counselors are always happy to see you. (Seriously, do they ever stop smiling??)

But I will admit that the summer does throw a wrench in routines, for all of us.  The boys are up until 10pm, I miss my Women’s Breakfast meetings in the early a.m., and my work is scheduled around playdates.

I understand what many busy women struggle with: the urge for order and routine yet this equally deep desire for a break from the norm.

Lets face it. Routines are hard to maintain throughout the year. Seasons, holidays and family changes effect consistency. But you know you can get back on track when things get “back to normal”.

To me the hardest part is getting into that routine or habit in the first place.

What about you? Is there a habit you’ve been trying to adopt for a while but haven’t been successful? Maybe it’s as simple as putting your clothes away at night, going through your mail or cutting down on sweets.

Watch today’s video to see the biggest mistake people make in trying to create a new habit.

And better yet, find out the surprising way to make that habit just that – habitual.

When you’re done watching, I’d love to know ONE habit you’d like to create. Let me know in the comments on my blog. Be specific and let me know when you’re going to start working on it. You never know who you’re going to inspire!

Thank you as always for your support,
xo,

I guess now is a good time to start making my sporadic gym visits more regular.
