Holy Guest Room Organization!

Spread the love

It’s been a busy week. I’ve been running my 14 Days To A Simplified Life program and it has been uh-mazing. I’m partnering with some of the most action-taking women ever, who are making huge strides in making their lives less complicated and more fun.

A lot of simplifying success lies in creating systems that you can stick to. It takes work up front, but when you get things in place, they sort of just run themselves.

Like a great morning routine or a mail system that rocks. It’s a total stress reliever. Just like my wine…but I digress…

Today I’m going to tell and show you how I keep our guest room organized so it’s ready to be used anytime.

With all the other holiday madness going, I’m psyched knowing that I don’t have to worry about getting the room ready too. Sure it might need a spruce up now and then, but with systems already in place, it’s pretty easy.

Check out my vid below and when you’re done please be a sweetie and let me know:

  • other guest room tips you have
  • if any of these motivated you to make a quick change
  • who you think is hiding in my sheets!!

Sometimes I’m really not sure how to say thank you enough for all your support and comments. So today I’m going to try a few languages. Gracias! Danki! Dhanyawaad! Arigato! Grazie! Xie xie!

With lots of love and appreciation,
Mridu

Love the over the door racks. Why hadn’t I thought of that? I might add to the list– a selection of pillows. I leave at least 3 for my guests to choose from, hard, medium & soft–in down or a synthetic material like foam.

Great video! I’m going to get some over the door racks and a wastebasket.:) And a clock! Thanks for all the awesome tips!!

Mridu

This is why I love comments! 😉 Thanks for sharing that tip. Not something I would have thought of…but I’m adding to “the list”. :)) xo, mridu

You’re so welcome. Even a little room like ours can be comfy and stress-free. 😉

I also keep travel size shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, lotion and extra toothbrushes available for my guests. I really liked the over the door hangars, that is one thing I’m missing and plan on adding. I find having a chair in the room is nice for them to site on and I have included a luggage rack too.

I also have a luggage rack in my guest closet which I think is really helpful. And I love the idea of having travel size toiletries on hand. (I’m adding that tomorrow!) Our room is too small for a chair (if we want to keep a queen bed in there) but that would be so useful. Thanks for sharing these awesome ideas Jennifer! xo,Mriud

Sounds basic but when you said “think hotel room,” that really clicked for me. You mentioned iron in the room. Am thinking that you would suggest a portable ironing board perhaps, too? In the guest bathroom – which is the house’s main bathroom – I have a drawer where I have extra hair dryer, extra toiletry items, etc. too. Always make sure there’s extra toilet paper rolls in the guest bathroom!

Mridu

Yes, I didn’t mention the portable ironing board, but that’s in my closet too. And extra toiletries (and tp!) are a must. Although I think I need to be better about having a basket or something like that ready — so I’m adding that to my list. Thanks for the great suggestions Tammy! hugs, mridu

You’re welcome Jenny. It’s a great feeling to get this stuff organized and done before the holidays. Too much stress during that time! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your comment and hope to hear from you again soon.

I think it’s nice to leave either a carafe with water and two glasses next to the bed or two bottles of water! Also, fresh soap for each guest in shower is nice too. And fresh flowers are also welcoming!

Mridu

Love all the ideas Perian! Fresh soap is a must…I should have added that in. 😉 Thanks for the great suggestions. xo, Mridu
