Project T-Shirt Drawer

Spread the love

Are you irked by someone else’s disorganization in your home? (Uh, welcome to my world!) Any of these scenarios feel familiar?

  • You’ve given your kids baskets for their clothes, yet their entire wardrobe is in the middle of their room!
  • You’ve given your hubby his mail pile “to handle”.  Two weeks later, he’s asking why his magazine subscription ran out!
  • You’ve separated everything in your medicine closet, yet find the Skittles mixed in with the anti-diarrhea pills…(and you can’t tell them apart!)

It’s hard enough to keep my own stuff organized but dealing with everyone else’s can stress me out.

Why don’t they take this “organization thang” as seriously as I do? Whatever the reason, their priorities are not the same as mine, and that’s just something I’ve accepted.

Until last week.  I took matters into my own hands.

My hubby’s drawer drives me cuh-razy and I just couldn’t take it anymore! Check out today’s quick vid to see this mega-transformation.

Will he keep it this way? Can’t say for sure but I can tell you he really does LOVE it.  He even found one shirt with the tags on it from last year, that he completely forgot about. The bad news?  He wants me to organize all his drawers now!

Please be a sweetie and let me know in the comments below if you’ve been inspired to make a change in your drawer situation.

“See” you next week and Happy 4th to my fellow Americans! 🙂
As always, sending you my love and appreciation,
Mridu

I love your enthusiasm for this topic! Keep it up!

Ok, that looks great, but my hubby doesn’t have a t-shirt drawer…. He has a shelf. What now?

Connie Staggs

I think it’s wonderful that, to show his appreciation for your organizing his shirt drawer, Viraj posted on Facebook his video of him organizing your “personal necessities” drawer.

Viraj Parikh

Yes Connie, call it retribution. Seriously, I thought I was going to be embarrassed, but I really do like my t-shirt drawer more now.

Mridu

Thanks Clova! Stay tuned every Wednesday. 🙂 xo, mridu

If the shelf is low (you can look down on it) you can do the same rolling idea but put the shirts in a large basket to keep them contained. If the shirts are on a high shelf I’d recommend stacking them so you can easily see them. Hope that helps! 🙂 xo, mridu

Mridu

LOL!! Actually, I would LOVE to see him do that. 😉

Joanne

Mridu, love this tip. Going to try it today. Perhaps hubby will stop stuffing his pjs and shorts in his T-shirt drawer? Will keep you posted…

Mridu

Hmmm….can’t promise that! 😉 But yes, please do let me know how it goes. I’d love to hear!

Vicky

You make organizing sound less threatening and FUN to do! Keep up the energy and videoing!!!! I REALLY like seeing the “in progress/end result” aspect, as a how to, vs trying to ‘just do it’ after hearing a bunch of words thrown my way. 🙂 THANK YOU for all your time and efforts Mridu!

Mridu

Vicky, thanks for your motivating message! You hit the nail on the head with “less threatening and fun”…that’s exactly how I feel about organizing and how I want other women to feel too. I appreciate your support and hope to hear from you again. best. Mridu 🙂

Hi Mridu, have implemented this with my husbands tshirt draw this weekend. His response was pretty much identical to your hubby’s :-). But no matter I’ve gained a couple of extra draws for myself now ;-). I’ve also done the same thing with his shorts. Thanks for your tips, always entertaining, you have a fan Down Under.

Mridu

So great to hear from you Sandra! And glad the tip helped out in your home too. Personally, I think our hubbies are way more happy than they sound. They just don’t want us to know how excited “organization” makes them too. ;))

This really looks like my husbands t-shirt drawer. I organize and fold and organize and fold it once a month! I’m going to try your organization tip and see if I get better results. Can’t wait — although I’m sure my husband can, lol!

Mridu

Would love to hear how it goes. 🙂 Thanks for joining the discussion Jennifer. Why aren’t our hubbies more thankful! 😉 xo, mridu
