Reclaim Your Linen Closet

Spread the love

You know when you’re a kid you think the way you do stuff in your house is how everyone else does it in their house too?

Like certain phrases your parents used or traditions they had.

It could be as simple as who did the cooking or how you fold your socks or the level of noise that was tolerated.

Growing up in an Indian family and community I had lots of these experiences.

It wasn’t until I was a teen that I realized that it wasn’t “normal” for kids to party with their parents and friends until 1 or 2am every weekend.Β (North Indians entertain a lot and never have bedtimes for their children). I had a lot of fun growing up! πŸ˜‰

Today’s tip made me laugh because until a friend asked me about it, I forgot that everyone didn’t just do it this way.

To find out how I use my linen closet for stuff other than linens, and how you can gain a lot more space too, be sure to check out today’s vid.

And when you’re done watching please let me if you enjoyed this tip or have other storage space ideas. You know I’d love to hear from you my friend!

As always, thank you so much for watching and for all your support.

Wishing you a happy and stress-free week ahead,
Mridu

I am going to do that today. I have WAY too many worn sheets that I have not gotten rid of.

I have lots of room in my bedroom closet floor! I will place linens in a basket. Great idea!

Does this mean I finally have to toss my floral XL twin sheeets from college which I have not used in 25 years πŸ™‚

Love your messages- great videos!

Well, none of my towels match!! I do put sheet sets in the closets of the bedrooms they belong in. I had an extra drawer in a dresser (how, i don’t know…that our sheets go in) I have a tiny “linen/towel” closet that is right by the bathroom door, so the towels are handy. But, I may take a basket upstairs to put towels in for the boys. They usually collect on the floor, (ERGH) which is WHY they don’t match. Bleach. πŸ˜‰

welcome all towels, blankets, quilts, and anything you find from
your linen closets so the animals don’t have to sleep on cold floors.
The animals haven’t noticed the mismatched towels yet.
Also consider the Animal Control Center.

I did our linen closet in the summer and also found a video on how to fold towels like they do in stores, amazing how much better things fit. Now we have two empty shelves in the closet!

Good for you! Great way to start next year off fresh. πŸ™‚ xo, mridu

I think the baskets work out great so you don’t have to rearrange so much other stuff. Good luck with it! xo, Mridu

Sadly…YES! πŸ˜‰ (I’m laughing out loud over her). Thanks for sharing! xo, mridu

Good for you Elaine. There’s no satisfaction like seeing an empty shelf. But two — you must be over the moon! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for sharing! xo, Mridu

Okay, I should have put a caveat about the matching stuff. How about make sure you have matching stuff for people who care? πŸ˜‰ Like you or maybe how you’d like your guests to have towels. But having two boys of my own, I totally agree. They could care less if they used the dogs towels! πŸ˜‰ BOYS! Gotta love em! πŸ™‚
