My Organizing Obsession

Spread the love

We just got back from a great “home” visit. It’s always a blast to meet old friends and family.

I’m still a City girl at heart (New York, that is) and love the energy, the people watching, the variety, and the general buzz 24/7.

But what I’m torn about is the scarcity of space. On one hand city folk are forced to simplify.Β They simply don’t have the space to save stuff they don’t really need, (which I love).

But on the other hand, in our suburban home we have a lot of space which means I have my space and the kids have their space. (Which, trust me, I also love).

Whether you have thousands of square feet or live in a cozy shoebox, you’re gonna love today’s video.

I’ll show you examples of my must have organization tool (my OBSESSION) that I use in virtually every room and recommend to all my clients and friends…which by the way means you, my sweet friend.

Check it out and then please leave me a comment below about other ways you could use this awesome solution.Β

Thank you as always for your time and support.

“See” you next week,
Mridu

P.S. My “Time Master” workshop will be released in just a couple weeks. If you’re not on my mailing list, be sure to sign up below so you get access to it first. It’s gonna rock your schedule!

I have the Elfa system on the back of my basement/utility room door. it holds all of my gift wrap, ribbons and gift bags. So amazing to have everything in one spot and not have it taking up room in closets like i had been doing. Found the idea on Pintrest if anyone is interested.

Love the shopping list! Perfect for busy people like us who don’t ow where To go shopping for all the stuff.

I am obsessed with the ELFA System! My friend uses it for all her kids underwear, socks and tees in their closets. You literally can use it in every room. Thanks for the gift wrap idea. Love that idea too!

Charu, so glad it was helpful. I need to add on some more of my favs but hopefully you found some good stuff πŸ™‚

Mridu, I love your video! I use over the door organizer too. I have one in my bedroom for my husband’s hats very different from yours. I would take pictures and post on my blog later on. I have one similar to your hand bag organizer in my son’s room we used to use that for my daughter’s hand bags. She now has her own room. In the guest room we have an Ikea door organizer.

Sounds very organized Rosario! πŸ˜‰ I wish we had an Ikea near us. The closest one is about 4 hours away — but I LOVE their organizing stuff. It’s so useful and modern. Thanks for sharing your great ideas. xo, mridu

My youngest has a very small room and she is also a “collector” so I bought a good looking shoe organizer that hangs over her door and offers lots of “compartments” for everything from hair accessories to shells and rocks she has collected along the way!

Those shoe organizers are the best! I used to use one for all the kids crafts (crayons, markers, scissors etc).
Girls have so many collections though — perfect place for them. thanks for sharing this idea Perian. πŸ™‚ xo, mridu

The doors in my home don’t have any space at the top when closed. That means all of my over the door hooks and such DON’t FIT! That is how I used to store towels and robes in the bathrooms, extra items in closets, etc. I would like to put one of the shoe organizers in my pantry, too. πŸ™ The other doors are folding doors. I just can’t seem to win this organizing game.

I just read the greatest post that would be awesome for you. Check out this link. http://orgjunkie.com/2013/08/making-the-most-of-small-spaces.html
Target has similar door organizers (like the Elfa ones) but you can just drill two holes and you’re done! (And I’m betting they cost a lot less than Container Store). I think this would be a great solution! Let me know what you think. πŸ™‚ -mridu
